Tasting Notes

This popular black tea has a little less astringency than the Tasmanian Breakfast in part due to the golden tip yunnan. A satisfying cuppa with comforting flavours of toast, dry roasted hazelnuts and malt.

If you love our bestselling Tasmanian Breakfast tea, we're confident you'll love this premium blend even more! The Old Tree Yunnan leaves are harvested from tea trees that have lived for over 150 years and thrive at 2000m ASL, coupled exquisitely with premium Keemun from the best black tea region in China. Rich, soothing, and bursting with comforting flavours, this tea is a notch of strength above the original. Pour yourself the ultimate morning brew.

Please note this is not a Tasmanian grown tea. Tea nomenclature is a little odd... English Breakfast tea is also not grown in England, nor is Irish Breakfast tea grown in Ireland. Just in case you were curious ;)

OUR STORY

From market stall to leading tea retailer

The Art of Tea began in 2000 with twelve varieties, sold from a stall at Hobart's Salamanca Market every Saturday.

Twenty-five years on, we still blend by hand in small batches — right here in Tasmania, now with over 150 teas and herbal blends to explore.

One word - superb! China teas have a unique flavour which sets them apart from teas from other regions (which is certainly not to disparage those other teas), as their flavour is unique.

The Queen of Tea. If you like a full bodied, delicious tea….this is the one. Called Premium for good reason. It is best poured into a nice bone china cup & savoured. As always service A+

This is the best tea that I drink. Yes it's comparatively expensive. But worth every dollar for the enjoyment of that first cuppa of the day.

This tea rapidly became my favourite morning tea! It is lovely without milk, not too tannic and has a soft, almost creamy mouth feel. Definitely recommend it.
