Tasting Notes

A beautifully aromatic Earl Grey with a creamy, heady bergamot perfume and a more restrained citrus edge. Smooth and uplifting, with the whole leaf giving the cup a gentler flow.

The true meaning of balance. A robust black tea brewed with nature in mind. The organically grown large leaf Ceylon tea is paired with uplifting natural bergamot oil to produce a satisfying choice that’s not quite as strong as our classic Earl Grey, but a perfect choice for those searching for certified organic. Additional to the pure joy and indulgence of drinking quality leaf tea, the flavonoids (antioxidants) in both black tea and bergamot have been shown in studies to promote healthy skin and balance aging.

OUR STORY

From market stall to leading tea retailer

The Art of Tea began in 2000 with twelve varieties, sold from a stall at Hobart's Salamanca Market every Saturday.

Twenty-five years on, we still blend by hand in small batches — right here in Tasmania, now with over 150 teas and herbal blends to explore.

Absolutely perfect! From the creamy, heady aroma when I first open the tea caddy to the last sip in the cup, this is a divine blend. This is a beautiful, uplifting tea. I made the decision that life really is too short to drink average tea and this is such a lovely treat I can have every day.

HELP ME! I don't know which tea to brew next.
Should it be that beautiful and aromatic Earl Grey?
Or perhaps I need a slap around the face and nostrils with yet another cup of Lapsang Souchong?
Or is it a humourous bit of native animal in a cup with my Eastern Grey Kangaroo or Tassie Devil tea?
It's a great emotional wrestle to be in. And the only solution is to put the kettle on again and make another pot.
Thanks to Art of Tea for feeding my addiction. You are stuck with me as another long-term, loyal customer.

Perfect! I enjoy relaxing with a cup of freshly brewed Earl Grey after work to bookmark my day between work and play.

My absolute favorite. Not too much bergamot - just right!!
