A single-estate whole-leaf Assam from Dhelakhat, in the Tinsukia district of Upper Assam. The STGFOP grade means an exceptional proportion of golden tips — the tender young buds that give this tea its sweetness and its texture.
It brews to a bright amber. Malty in the classic Assam way but noticeably smooth with it, carrying a soft nuttiness closer to roasted almond, and a natural sweetness that lingers. Medium-bodied rather than brisk — this is an Assam for people who want the malt without the bite.
Excellent with a splash of milk, and refined enough to drink without.

The Art of Tea began in 2000 with twelve varieties, sold from a stall at Hobart's Salamanca Market every Saturday.
Twenty-five years on, we still blend by hand in small batches — right here in Tasmania, now with over 150 teas and herbal blends to explore.
